1 Samuel 23:19-24-24:22 David & Saul (Pt. 5 - Honoring the LORD) From the perspective of man, David's life is hanging on by a thread. However, as we began to see last week, God is using this time to exhibit and hone the character of a godly leader. As Paul told Timothy, "... exercise yourself toward godliness. For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having a promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come." (1 Timothy 4:7-8) Last week we saw David accept responsibility. Today, we see him display another trait of a godly leader - He honors God and those whom God has placed in authority.
