Beginning of new series within this greater plan - on Joshua, Judges and Ruth. * Last week, we considered the call and preparation of Joshua as the man who would lead Israel into the "promised land." Even his name was sovereignly ordained by God to reflect the ministry and purpose that God had prepared for him ... YHWH Saves. * At the beginning of this new chapter of Joshua's life and the history of Israel, God gives Joshua a life challenge to embrace: "Be strong and of good courage!" * But HOW? In the face of the overwhelming task which God had placed before Joshua, from where would Joshua draw his strength and courage? * God again ministers to Joshua ... strengthening His chosen servant through His promises, precepts and presence.
