* In the second message of this series, we discussed Remembering Your Creator in Your Philosophy of Life. In that message, we considered Solomon's erroneous view that any interconnectedness of reality under the sun is a grasping for the wind and meaningless, and core truths which should shape a Biblical framework of philosophy: the Exclusivity of God and the Eternalness of Man. * Today, we consider another passage where Solomon is considering "the meaningless of life under the sun" as a result of his faulty fatalistic philosophy of life. * Life is full of countless events and choices. One of the things that bothers many people is that they cannot control all of these events and happenings. * One of those major considerations is the desire to be "remembered;" to have a lasting "Legacy." Your legacy is the impact and memories that a you leave behind that continue to influence others after you are gone. Since, you cannot control everything that happens to you, you cannot ultimately predetermine your "legacy." It will be a result of the decisions you made in response to the situations and events in which you lived. * Through this series, the theme has been to "Remember Your Creator" in the various phases of life. Today, we consider the need to "Remember Your Creator in Your Legacy" ... which, in my mind, is equated to declaring "Remember Your Creator in Your Responses to the Events of Life." * As I traverse this adventure of life there are various influences or factors which work together to determine my path, and my ultimate end. Solomon considers these in his musings and then provides an illustration which brings an opportunity to ponder how these factors flow together to impact many people at one time. * This message was presented by Bob Corbin on June 28, 2026 at Family Bible Church in Martinez, Georgia. |
