In I John 5 we read, "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." In James 5 we read, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." As believers we can be assured of being effective in our prayer life. The key is to be delighting in God and His will. When we delight ourselves in the LORD, He will give us the desires of our heart.
