* The Gospel according to John: John's presentation of Jesus as the Son of God who became the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world, in order to strengthen and unify the church around this core belief. * Over the past four weeks, we have considered the powerful declarations of Jesus regarding His divinity during the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles. * Over the past two weeks, we have considered His declaration that He was YHWH through the metaphorical declaration: I AM the Light of the World and the Literal declarations: Unless you believe I am I AM, you will die in your sins; When you exalt the Son of Man, you will know I am I AM; and, finally, Before Abraham was, I am I AM! * Today, we see Jesus, the Light of the World, perform a distinctly Messianic Miracle - giving sight to a blind man ... bringing light into this man's darkness (cf. Isaiah 29:18; 32:3-4; 35:5; 42:6-7, 16; 43:8)
