* Over the past couple of weeks, we have been considering the final hours of Christ's earthly ministry - from His example of humility in washing the disciples' feet to His sacrificial gift of Himself upon the cross for the sins of the world. * The final message of Jesus upon the cross was "It is Finished!" In the Greek, that was the word "tetelestai." It is in the perfect tense, indicating a past action with a continuing result. Jesus stated that in His sacrifice, He was completing all that needed to be accomplished in order for the penalty of our sins to be paid. * Today, we examine the confirmation of that sacrificial offering; the attestation that God had truly accepted that offering: His Resurrection! * We will examine first of the initial impact of this event upon the lives of some principal participants and then the importance of the Resurrection itself upon mankind.
