* We are currently considering the events in the life of the Messiah during the days just prior to His death, burial and resurrection. * Over the past few weeks, we have considered Jesus' interactions with the Scribes, Pharisees, Herodians, Sadducees and Lawyers. * Today we begin to transition from the Examination phase of this week - when those religious leaders unknowingly validated that Jesus was indeed without blemish and, thereby, fulfilled the qualifications of both the passover sacrifice and sin sacrifice - into the Sacrificial phase of the week. * In Matthew 24 and 25, Jesus informs His disciples of the coming destruction of the temple and then, in response to their questioning, gives them details regarding the end times.
