* Focusing on the Messiah in the book of Matthew. Matthew was a Jewish man writing to a Jewish audience and giving testimony regarding the life and ministry of the Messiah who had been foretold by many of the Jewish prophets.
* The recent messages have been considering the Instruction of the Messiah to His disciples in preparation of His death, burial and resurrection.
* A couple of weeks ago we saw Jesus declare clearly that He was the Lord of the Sabbath and that He was greater than the Temple. Last week, we considered Jesus' questions to His disciples regarding His identity: Who do the people say that I am? Who do YOU say that I am? Your answer to this question concerns your eternal destiny!
* While in the region of Caesarea Philippi, Jesus provided three of His disciples with an even more demonstrative illustration of His identity.
* As Peter, James, and John watched Jesus was transformed into a brilliant brightness. At the same time, Moses and Elijah appeared and began to talk to Jesus about His impending trip to Jerusalem!
* The metamorphosis of the Messiah provides us not only with great evidence of His identity but it also reminds us of the ultimate transformation of believers and the call for our continual transformation on the earth.
