Living in a hedonistic, licentious society can have an affect upon the "set-apartness" of the individual believer and the gathering of believers. A couple of weeks ago we began considering the "set-apartness" of worship. Today, we begin to see how that set-apartness specifically affected the Corinthians, as we examine Paul's corrective instruction to them regarding their improper use of "tongues." Remember, the context: Chapter 12 - Spiritual Abilities/Gifts were given to each individual in the body in order to profit the whole. Chapter 13 - Selfless love is the greatest gift. When we fully grasp the mind of Christ and begin to live it, then the need for signs and wonders cease.
