Every time we see a rainbow in the sky, it is a reminder to us of the faithfulness of God to fulfill His covenants. After God destroyed the earth with a flood, saving only Noah, his three sons, and each of their wives, God made a promise to Noah and all of the earth that He would never again destroy it with a flood. He then stated that He would put a rainbow in the clouds as a sign of that covenant. God is true to His covenants. He is not a man that He should lie. What He has spoken He will maintain. So it is with the New Covenant that He purchased through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Just as the days of Noah are used as a analogy of the end times, so the continual fulfillment of this Noahic Covenant is a reminder of His faithfulness to keep all His promises. Jesus stated, "I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
